CologneOFF X is the 10th festival edition in sequence. In the time of the rapid development of everything is that kind of continuation representing an enormous value, especially considering that CologneOFF started in 2005, its foundation from point zero, and established among the relevant videoart festivals on the globe within quite a short time despite or due to the concept of a new type of nomadic festival which is taking place all over the year, seven days a week and 24 hour ours a day, in an exchange between virtual and physical space via the Internet and physical festival events all over the world with the best collaboration partners.
As a very special highlight, this 10th anniversary, however, is representing also the start of the finalization process, because after the worldwide presentations in 2015/2017, CologneOFF will be discontiued as a festival, and become “just” one among many other exhibition formats in the context of artvideoKOELN international and its activities in the field of “art & moving images”.
As a corporate part of Le Musee di-visioniste – the new museum of networked art, – the experimental global network for art and new technologies – founded in 2000 , CologneOFF – Cologne International Videoart Festival founded in 2015, started in 2006 as a festival context for “art & moving images” .
CologneOFF is a new mobile type of film & video festival acting without a static festival location, run by “artvideoKOELNinternational – the curatorial initiative art & moving images” as a dual system – simultaneously online and offline via partner festivals & global cooperations. On 1. January 2011, the nomadic festival project
CologneOFF 20XX – videoart in a global context
was launched as a new dual festival format consisting of the pool of videos originating from the already realised festival editions and a second component in form of curatorial contributions by more than 40 curators from as many countries.
In 2012, Cologne International Videoart Festival is expanding with some new branches

These new formats feature special aspects of “art & moving images”, but represent also a new format in another concern, since they are based on a permanent collection to be extended once a year via a new festival edition.
As the main festival context, Cologne International Videoart Festival run by artvideoKOELN as the organising instance, is founded, designed, directed and curated by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne.
